Ashleigh needed somewhereto_ start the 'pop-up brighton' project.
I’ve been trying to start the 'pop-up brighton' project for over a year and wasn’t getting anywhere. Then I found somewhereto_ and they made my dream a reality.
Ashleigh Ward - somewhereto_ young person.
what's your thing?
Ashleigh 'FishBoy' Ward, a 22- year-old illustrator, animator and designer was renting space in a small studio, but was eager to find somewhereto_ make his mark and promote the work of other young artists within Brighton's creative hub.
how did somewhereto_ help?
FishBoy approached somewhereto_ requesting a centrally located space to open a pop-up gallery in time to attract the Christmas crowd. As Brighton is renowned for its buzzing art scene, the request may have seemed simple. But there was difficulty securing space at any of the city's local galleries, stores or empty shops. Working closely with Brighton and Hove City Council, somewhereto_ unlocked an amazing artists' hut just east of the Brighton Pier, a perfect location for FishBoy.
"I've been trying to start the pop-up Brighton project for over a year and wasn't getting anywhere. Then I found somewhereto_ and they made my dream a reality. After months of working with them I built up a relationship with my somewhereto_ regional co-ordinator, I feel like she's always there for me and never too busy and I feel like that rest of the team is behind me just as much. They've taken the boring bit out of business for the creative to remain excited."
