Job Description

Employer: CEO of high-profile Afro-Caribean male grooming business and clothing line, Slider Cuts
Role: Marketing and Admin Assistant
Salary: £8 per hour
Hours: 4 hours per week (FLEXIBLE WORKING)
Location: Work from home but must be able to travel to Highbury for meetings with the CEO


The Role:

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial young person (17 upwards) who understands the Afro-Caribbean barbering market, so ideally it would be someone that understands black male grooming culture. We’d like the young person to support the CEO with:

  • Managing the barbershop’s social media channels (Twitter, Instagram and Facebook)
  • Replying to email from high-profile clients (celebrities, sportsmen, etc)
  • Ghost writing blog posts on behalf of the barbershop owner that will feature in prominent male hair care magazines/blogs
  • Managing the admin for the barbershop’s existing clothing brand sales, i.e. posting products to customers


There’s also room..

to get involved in the entrepreneurial side of the business if the young person proves to be reliable and intuitive! For example:

  • Supporting with launching the barbershops hair tools and haircare products, by researching potential suppliers/manufacturers on the internet, calling suppliers for quotes and using excel to document the findings


The right candidate will be/have the following:

  • Entrepreneurial – keen interest in business and eager to gain experience of running a small clothing start-up
  • Intuitive and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Have a strong understanding of Afro-Caribean male grooming culture (“barbershop culture”)
  • Social media savvy – can grow an online community
  • Strong writing skills
  • Good all-round communication skills
  • A friendly, clear, confident, professional manner
