Next up in our celebration of amazing young people who have worked with somewhereto_ over the past four years is Sean McInally, a filmmaker from Glasgow.
Sean is currently trying to pursue a career in film directing and screenwriting in as many ways as he can! He is studying Digital Film and Television at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and is a founder of Young Filmmakers Glasgow. Young Filmmakers Glasgow have just delivered the First Act Film Festival in Glasgow, which brought together 150 filmmakers as well as guest speakers such as Ian Smith (OBE) producer of Mad Max.
somewhereto_ provided a meeting space for the First Act Film Festival committee. ‘The quality of the space added an element of professionalism to the meeting, which enabled the work to be taken at the level of seriousness required’. We’ve also provided space for castings which Sean has found invaluable to earning the trust of the actors who come to audition, giving projects an air of confidence.
‘If passion is the heart of every project, the environment is the soul. I think space very much nurtured the talents and confidence of everyone in Young Filmmakers Glasgow. Now, as a collective we have a portfolio of work and a film festival behind us. As individuals, the experience we’ve gained has put us into further education to study film.’
We are sure Young Filmakers Glasgow are going to continue producing amazing things.
After four years of Big Lottery Funding. somewhereto_ is winding down in all regions except London from 30th June. Find out more here.
