Set within a large Victorian health facility, Temperance Hospital, is one of London’s most vibrant co-working spaces. This previously disused space has been brought to life by long term somewhereto_ friends Camden Collective.
The reasons we love Camden Collective aren’t hard to see. They’re big supporters of start-up businesses, providing flexible and collaborative working environments; something our programme brings to young entrepreneurs to nurture them towards success.
Temperance Hospital boasts a beautiful main event space at the heart of the building, along with meeting rooms and a host of co-working office space with an amazing array of members, hand-selected by Camden Collective to contribute to an atmosphere of growth, innovation and community.
Nadine, Head of Projects at Camden Collective tells us, “We have three rules we ask all of our members to adhere to when they sign up with us.
- Donate 2 hours of your time per month towards the growth and success of the project.
- Participate in quarterly reviews with us so we can talk about the growth of your business, along with ideas on how we can grow.
- Don’t be an arse.”
As well as being a beautiful and inspirational space, there are a range of events organised by Camden Collective and its members. One such event is ‘This is Temporary’, part of London Design Festival. This event will explore the meanwhile use of buildings and how this affects how we live, work and play in the future. ‘Meanwhile use is about using spaces in different ways and being innovative in those relationships,’ Nadine explained. ‘It’s about bringing as many contacts as we can to maximise opportunities. We’re about piloting new ideas, innovative intervention and setting an example to other boroughs, recently advising Lambeth.’
